Mario Ancilli is a regional executive with almost twenty years of experience in the public administration sector, with a focus on the IT field.
Since 2019, he has served as the Head of the Geographic and Environmental Information System department within the Piemonte Region’s Directorate for Environment, Energy and Land Planning. In this pivotal role, his responsibilities have included planning, developing, and managing environmental, urban, energy and forestry information systems, updating the official cartography of the Piemonte Region, and promoting innovation and digitization in the processes of the regional public administration.
He is a full member of the National Council for Geographic and Environmental Information (CNITA).
His career began as a Signals Officer in the Italian Army, where he developed leadership, strategic planning and technical expertise. He holds a degree in Computer Science from the University of Pisa (IT), a degree in Strategic Sciences and a Master’s degree in Complex Systems Analysis and Evaluation, both from the University of Turin (IT).
