João Bentes de Jesus is the Head of Institutional Affairs at Geosat, one of the two established satellite operators in Europe providing VHR optical data. He is responsible for representing the company in different fora, be those focused on institutional, defence, or industrial partnerships. Moreover, he develops agreements for collaboration with entities along those lines, linking with users to assess their needs and to translate them into requirements for services.
He previously worked at the Atlantic International Research Centre on several projects regarding the usage of Earth Observation in service of coastal communities and for land and marine uses. Additionally, he served as a strategic advisor to the Portuguese Chairmanship of the Eureka Network. He was a co-chair on the International Space University’s Space Studies Program for a team project on the interactions between Space, Climate, and the Ocean. He holds a master’s degree in aerospace engineering.
