Alessandra Tassa

Alessandra works in the Directorate of Earth Observation Programmes at the European Space Agency.

A remote sensing engineer and PhD, she has been working on ground segment developments and data processing for about 20 years both in ESA and as an industrial consultant. Previously, she had worked as a researcher in satellite meteorology at the Italian National Research Centre.

In the last years, Alessandra has been focusing on investigating how Copernicus Sentinels data are being used in Europe and what are the associated socio-economic impacts, with the objective to provide evidence about Copernicus benefits and to inform the Agency’s strategies.

She is responsible for the Copernicus4regions (and its precursor initiatives) in cooperation with NEREUS since 2012.
