CanSat Junior A\u00e7ores is an educational project aimed at students in the 3rd cycle of basic education, included in the promotion of the Dissemination, Education and Scientific Culture for Space axis, of the Azores Strategy for Space, which aims to create a cultural\/educational framework capable of to boost the sustainable development of the space sector in the region and in the country, by contributing to training generations of highly qualified Azoreans focused on areas directly or indirectly related to the space sector.<\/p>\n

This initiative is organized in partnership with ESERO Portugal<\/a> (the entity that created the CanSat Junior project at European level), Ci\u00eancia Viva<\/a>, the European Space Agency (ESA)<\/a>, and the Portuguese Space Agency – Portugal Space<\/a>, with several regional partners, nationals and internationals. CanSat Junior is an eminently scientific and technological project based on a \u201creal\u201d space context \u2013 construction and launch of a microsatellite the size of a soda can, equipped with sensors and a communications system, capable of measuring atmospheric parameters and sending data via telemetry to a student-operated ground station.<\/p>\n
