President, Portuguese Space Agency<\/span><\/p>\n

Ricardo Conde is the father of two beautiful girls. He graduated in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Instituto Superior T\u00e9cnico (IST), Universidade T\u00e9cnica de Lisboa.<\/span><\/p>\n

He has over 30 years of experience in the industrial and institutional space sector. He began his professional career in 1991 and has worked in the aeronautics and space sector since 1993.\u00a0 He has participated in several national and international space programmes in the Space and Ground segments. He specialises in telecommunications, radio frequency, and space and ground systems engineering.<\/span><\/p>\n

Since 2019, he has been a member of the board of directors of the Portuguese Space Agency, and in 2020, he was appointed President of the Agency.<\/span><\/p>\n

He has participated as a speaker at various international congresses, focusing on the role of new space agencies as new actors in space, space policy, space sustainability and space technologies’ role in a sustainable planet.<\/span><\/p>\n

In 2022, Ricardo Conde assumed the prestigious role of the president of the Eureka Network, the largest international network dedicated to promoting Science and Innovation for SMEs, during the Portuguese presidency of this esteemed international organization.<\/span><\/p>\n

He is currently the Portuguese representative and head of delegation on the Council of the European Space Agency (ESA), the European Southern Observatory (ESO), the Square Kilometre Array Observatory (SKAO) and the Portuguese representative in the Admin Board of the European Space Program Agency (EUSPA).<\/span><\/p>\n
